RESOLUTION NO. 93-/~-~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH
JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT #6 FOR FIRE PROTECTION
AT THE BIOSOLIDS COMPOST FACILITY.
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
The City is under a compliance schedule from the State Department of Ecology
to construct the Biosolids Compost Facility along with the expanded secondary
Wastewater Treatment Facility, and is scheduled to have this facility in operation
by December 1993; and
The City is constructing a Biosolids Composting Facility on land leased at the
Jefferson County Landfill; and
WHEREAS, A base fee of $2000 a.,mually has been established which is a percentage of the
actual tax assessment for fire protection on neighboring properties; and
WHEREAS, The Jefferson County Commissioners will review the Fire Protection Contract
annually, and will not increase without prior notice,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the Mayor to
sign a contract agreement with Jefferson County Fire Protection District/16 for $2000 annually
for fire protection at the Biosolids Composting Facility at the Jefferson County Landfill.
Adopted by the City Council ore City o~P~s~Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 4th day
