application between the City of Port Townsend
and the Department of Ecology for funding the
Port Townsend Shoreline Education Program to
be carried out ~ the Port Townsend Marine
Science Center.
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Marine science Center received CZM funds
to offer "Shoreline Educational Beachwalks" in SFY93; and
WHEREAS, the beachwalks were successful and popular to residents
and visitors alike; and
WHEREAS, the Port ToWnsend Marine Science center would like to
continue to offer beachwalks and public shoreline education
activities in 1994; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend would be the recipient of the
grant monies to pass on to the Marine Science Center, a non-profit
organization; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port ToWnsend supports the efforts and public
outreach activities undertaken by the Port Townsend Marine Science
Center; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the grant application
with the Department of Ecology substantially in the form of the
agreement attached hereto as Attachment A.
