A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT WITH VIKING FENCE COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$14,674.40 FOR INSTALLATION OF A FENCE AROUND THE MORGAN
HILL RESERVOIR SITE AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CLERK/
TREASURER TO ISSUE WARRANTS IN PAYMENT OF THE CONTRACT
UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously authorized the Public Works Department
to forego the formal competitive bidding process due to an emergency and seek bids by
telephone for construction of a fence around the Morgan Hill Reservoir site on an emergency
basis; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has sought such bids and has taken bids from
three contractors; and
WHEREAS, Viking Fence Company is the only bidder willing to provide performance
and payment bonds and pay prevailing wages;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend
that:
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract in the amount of $14,674.40 with
Viking Fence Company to install a fence surrounding the Morgan Hill Reservoir Site to prevent
further incidents of vandalism and to insure the safety of the public and, provided further, the
Clerk/Treasurer is authorized to issue warrants in payment of tl ~
