A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN AMENDMENT
TO THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT REGARDING CONSTRUCTION
OF SEWER FACILITIES WITH PORT TOWNSEND SCHOOL DISTRICT
NO. 50 FOR THE PURPOSES OF COORDINATING THE DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION OF PORTIONS OF YESBERGER'S PROPOSED SEWER
LINE EXTENSION.
WHEREAS,
the City Council finds it beneficial to upgrade a proposed sanitary sewer line
extension to serve property owned by Mildred Maude Yesberger to accommodate
future demand of development in a region of approximately 250 acres; and
WHEREAS,
the Port Townsend School District No. 50 has provided an easement for the
subject sewer line extension as a condition of acquiring property for the new
Middle School; and
WHEREAS,
the City of Port Townsend is already participating in an interlocal agreement with
the school district for purposes of designing and installing a segment of 30-inch
diameter sanitary sewer to serve as the City's new sanitary sewer trunk line; and
WHEREAS,
a cooperative arrangement to accommodate the needs of the City, the school
district, and Yesberger in the form of amending the existing Interlocal Agreement
Regarding Construction of Sewer Facilities.
N O W T H E R E F O R E
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that the
Mayor is to execute an amendment that allows the City to utilize the school district's professional
consultants for design and surveying components and participation with the school in
constructiong a portion of the subject sewer line extension.
