A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF PORT ANGELES
ALLOWING EACH CITY TO UTILIZE THE BIDS OR NEGOTIATED
PRICES FOR GOODS AND SERVICES OBTAINED BY EACH WHEN IT IS
FAVORABLE TO DO SO.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has obtained favorable pricing on certain
chemicals used for wastewater treatment through a public bidding process; and
WHEREAS, the two Cities' Public Works Departments have had discussions regarding
the ability of Port Angeles to obtain wastewater chemicals at the same price as the City of Port
Townsend on the basis of the bid price Port Townsend has obtained; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the two cities to have a mutual
arrangement under which they could both benefit by sharing in favorable prices negotiated or
obtained through competitive bidding by the other city; and
WHEREAS, it requires an interlocal agreement between the two cities to allow such
mutual price sharing; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an interlocal agreement with the City of
Port Angeles in substantially the same form as attached hereto which authorizes each City to
share in obtaining beneficial prices negotiated or compet~
