AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REPEALING
PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTER 2.38, COMMUNITY ORIENTED
POLICING ADVISORY BOARD
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend Community Oriented Policing Advisory Board
has been inactive since ?001. At such time as the City Council determines the need to reactivate
this boazd or form another citizens advisory board to advise and make recommendations to the
City Council, City Manager, and Police Chief on police services, the Council can take
appropriate steps to do so, including (in a manner similar to how other citizen advisory boards
are formed and tasked with duties) by Council resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend ordains as
follows:
Section 1. Repeal. Chapter 2.38 -Community Oriented Policing Advisory Board of the Port
Townsend Municipal Code, which is se[ forth below in strikeout, is hereby deleted in its
entirely.

SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person
or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the
provision to other persons or circumstances, is not affected.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after the date of its publication
in the manner provided by law.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular
meeting thereof, held this fifth day of October 2009.
