A RESOLWFION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
SIGN AN AMENDMENT TO THE INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH PORT TOWNSEND SCHOOL
DISTRICT NO. 50 TO INCLUDE THE DESIGN AND
COORDINATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SEWER
LINE TO SERVE A BASIN WHICH INCLUDES PROPERTY
OWNED BY DANIEL YESBERGER
WHEREAS,
The City of Port Townsend and Port Townsend School Dis~ict No. 50 have
previously entered into an interlocal agreement concerning the design and
construction of a 30-inch sanitary sewer trunk line in connection with the
construction of the new middle school; and
WHEREAS,
Daniel Yesberger, in cooperation with the City, intends to construct a 12-inch
sewer line extension which will connect into the City's 30-inch sanitary sewer
trunk line within the middle school property and ultimately serve the entire basin
wesX of the middle school property; and
The City wishes to utilize the services of the professional consultants retained by
the school district due to their familiarity with the 30-inch sanitary sewer tnmk
line project and existing site conditions; and
WHEREAS, The school district wishes to construct a portion of Daniel Yesberger's sewer
extension as part of the middle school construction project; and
WHEREAS, The City has sufficient funds currently budgeted for this sewer s~jstem
improvement in the 1994 Capital Improvement Program; and
A cooperative arrangement which will accommodate the needs of the City, the
school district and Daniel Yesberger in an efficient and economical manner can
be achieved by amending the existing interlocal agreement,
NO W THEREFORE
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute on behalf of the City an amendment to the existing interlocal agreement
with Port Townsend School District No. 50 to 'allow the City to utilize the school district's
professional consultants for the design and surveying components of a sewer tine construction
project to be undertaken by Daniel Yesberger and to allow for the City's financial participation
with the school district in constructing a portion of the sewer line.
