A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN INTERLOCAL
GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT RELATED TO A WATER LINE
RELOCATION PROJECT FOR CHIMACUM ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the County has received Federal grant funding to make improvements to Chimacum
Road, and
WHEREAS, the City owns a 6" water line under this road that will interfere with stormwater
improvements related to this project, and
WHEREAS, the City water line exists in the County right-of-way and theretbre can be required
by the County to be moved if it interferes with the road, and
WHEREAS, the City is responsible for financing the necessary changes to the water line, and
WHEREAS, the City does not have the staff necessary to ma_nage this project, and
WHEREAS, the County is under time deadlines for use of the grant monies for this project
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
that it authorizes the Mayor to sign an agreement in substantially the same form as the attached
that authorizes the County to manage the water line changes with direction from the City, and
BE IT RESOLVED that the City will pay for the water line project out of the 1994 Capital
Improvements project County water line project.
