A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-IF. CITY
OF PORT TOWNSEND, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
SIGN A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH
JACKSON & PROCHNAU, INC., REGARDING AN
APPRAISAL OF PROPERTY IN THE CITY LAKE
WATERSHED
WHEREAS,
In connecfitm with its water filtration avoidance plan, the City has been ordered
by the state Department of Health tx) control ac~vifies within watersheds from
which the City draws its drinking water; and
WHEREAS, A porti(m of the City Lake watershed is owned by Pope Resources and is not
under the control of the City; and
WHEREAS,
The City.is in need of an appraisal (ff the land owned by Pope Resources in order
to proceed with the City's eff(~ m acquire said land, as previously approved by
the City Council; and
WHEREAS, The City does not have an employee certified tx) perform such an appraisal; and
Jaclcson & Pn~clmau, Inc., is on the City's current professi~mal services roster and
is duly certified to perform general appraisals in the State of Washington and
qualified to appraise timber resource lands,
NO W THEREFORE
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the Mayor is hereby
authorized to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Jack_son & Prochnau, Inc., consulting
forest engineers and certified general appraisers, in substantially the form attached hereto
regarding an appraisal of timber resource land owned by Pope R~ources in the City Lake
watershed; and
Be it further resolved that the City Clerk/Treasurer is hereby authorized to iss~ae tach warrants
as may be necessary to comply with the terrms of sa~ch contract.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Pfl~ns~d and signed by the Mayor this 2nd
day of May, 1994.
