A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN AMENDED
CONTRACT WITH POLARIS ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING, INC.
FOR GENERAL CIVIL ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING SERVICES.
The City entered into contracts with Polaris Engineering and Surveying,
Inc., pursuant to City Council Resolutions 93-32 and 93-64; and
It is necessary that projects commenced under the existing contracts be
completed; and
Funding for the existing contracts has been depleted and, in the absence
of further authorization, projects currently underway cannot be completed;
and
All work previously performed and yet to be performed under the existing
contracts is necessary work, requested, authorized and reviewed by City
staff; and
All work performed during 1993 on projects within the scope of the existing
contracts has been paid from accounts funded by appropriations design ated
for such purposes under the adopted 1993 Budget and Ca pital Improvement
Program and the sums charged against these accounts do not exceed the
amounts appropriated by City Council for such purposes; and
Payment claims made for work performed to date have been reviewed and
approved by both City staff and City Council; and
All invoices were found to be valid claims against the City for services
rendered; and
City Council Resolution 93-64 contemplated that additional funding would
be provided for the projects now underway through the 1994 Budget and
Capital Improvement Program; and
Expenditures authorized by the contract amendment contemplated by this
Resolution will be from funds which have been duly appropriated by the City
Council in the adopted budgets and capital improvement programs for 1993
and 1994,
N O W T H E IR E F O R E
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that
the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign an amendment to the Miscellaneous Services
Contract attached hereto to provide $150,000.00 which will allow Polaris Engineering and
Surveying, Inc., to continue work currently underway; $121,851.19 of this contract
amendment covers work performed and paid for in 1993, under the Miscellaneous
Services Contract authorized by Resolutions 93-32 and 93-64, and $28,148.81 is to
cover the expected cost of completing individual drainage basin plans and related work;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all actions previously taken in excess of contract limits
are hereby ratified.
