RESOLUTION NO. 09-036
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS AND CONTRACTS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE VISITOR
PLAZA CONVERSION -COTTON BUILDING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Visitor Plaza Conversion -Cotton Building Project was designated as
a priority project in the adopted 2008 Council Bond providing for the improvements and seismic
retrofit of the Cotton Building to a Downtown Visitor Plaza; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has received allocations and partial funding
through a FEMA -Washington State Hazard Mitigation Grant for the Visitor Plaza Conversion -
Cotton Building Project; and
WHEREAS, this project in included in the adopted City's 2009 CIP; and
WHEREAS, the City solicited bids and opened bids on September 9, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Fischer General Contracting, Inc. is the lowest, responsive, responsible
bidder; and
WHEREAS, the City Council must authorize the City Manager to sign all necessary
documents and contracts for design and construction of capital projects,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manger is hereby authorized to sign all necessary documents and
contracts for the construction of the Visitor Plaza Conversion -Cotton Building Project, within
available funding.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 21st day of September, 2009.
