A RESOLUTION authorizing an agreement for
professional services between the City of Port
Townsend and Makers Architecture and Urban Design,
to develop conceptual designs for the Port Townsend
Waterfront Public Access project.
WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources has allocated a $30,000 planning grant to the City of
Port Townsend to design a public access project from 'funds available from the Aquatic Lands
Enhancement Account.
WHEREAS, the City has established the Union Wharf Design Advisory Committee to help in the
preparation of the public access conceptual designs to replace Union Wharf; and
WHEREAS, the City, through an open and competitive consultant selection process has chosen Makers
Architecture and Urban Design to assist the committee in developing the conceptual designs and grant
administration of the project; and
WHEREAS, the consultant team will prepare a preferred conceptual design with sufficient detail to seek
development permits; and
WHEREAS, the City is not required to provide matching funds; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that the Mayor
is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Makers Architecture and Urban Design, substantially
in the form of the agreement attached hereto as Attachment A; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any actions taken pursuant to this authorization but prior to its
adoption are hereby ratified and confirmed.
