A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND ADOPTING THE WATER SYSTEM POLICIES.
WHEREAS,
The City of Port Townsend is currently preparing an update to the Water System
Master Plan and an adopted set of city water policies is needed to guide the analysis
and recommendations of this plan; and
WHEREAS,
City water system policies will serve as the basis for the coordination with other
water related planning efforts such as the Coordinated Water System Plan (CWSP),
the Dungeness-Quilcene Pilot Project Plan, and the newly formed Watershed
Council; and
WHEREAS,
The policies of the water utility have been developed in coordination with GMA
planning activities and with a goal of achieving concurrence with the
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS,
The Water Advisory Committee has invested a considerable amount of time and
effort in preparing, discussing, and revising these policies and has reached a
consensus in recommending that these policies be adopted.
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that:
1)
The City of Port Townsend hereby adopts the attached Water System Policy table
for guidance in the management of the water utility.
2)
The City Council hereby directs staff to develop water system procedures, plans,
standards and ordinances that adopted policies.
