OF THE JEREMY E. L. SCOTT FAMILY TRUST, REC4~RDIN~
PURCHASE OF LAND IN THE CITY AND AUT~0RIZIN~ THE
C~.~K/TREASURER TO ISSUE ~ARRANTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE
The water pipe line to be constructed within the City in
order to comply with the chlorine contact requirements of
rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to the Federal
Clean Water Act will be routed along existing street
rights of way for most of its length; and
The pipe line will be routed from the Rainier Street
right of way through City-owned property to the City's
reservoir and standpipe site at the end of 20th Street;
and
Whereas,
In order to minimize project impacts to a significant
wetland in the Southeast corner of the City-owned
property and to provide an opportunity for the mitigation
of pro. j ect impacts to other smaller wetland areas along
the pipe. line route, as required by various permitting'
authorities, it is necessary for the City to acquire
approximately . 64 acres within property which is adjacent
to the Southeast corner of the City-owned property and
which is owned by the Jeremy E. L. Scott Family Trust;
and
The Co-Trustees of the Jeremy E, L. Scott Family Trust
have agreed to sell the land to the City for $5,318,
which is not in excess of the fair market value estimated
by an appraisal performed for the City by Schaefer
Sinnett Hernandez Appraisal Group, Inc.; and
The funds for this purchase havebeen budgetedfor 1994,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that it authorizes the Mayor to sign an agreement with Nancy E.
Scott and JeremyE. L. Scott, Co-Trustees of the JeremyE. L. Scott
Family Trust regarding the purchase of approximately .64 ac~es o~
land adjacent to property owned bythe City in the vicinity'of 20t~
and Rainier Streets for $5,318; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk/Treasurer is authorized to
issue the warrants necessary to complete the purchase of the land
in accordance with said agreement.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed
by the Mayor this
