A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF REAL
PROPERTY FROM H. KENNITH CARTER
WHEREAS, H. KENNITH CARTER has offered to donate real property near Umatilla
Street to the City; and
WHEREAS, the ownership of the property would be beneficial to the City because,
among other things, it provides roadWay shoulder support and other road benefits, as well as
providing a buffer and open space in an area which is experiencing rapid development; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary commitment for title insurance from Jefferson Title
Company shows that the property is free and clear of all liens and encumbrances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend that the City gratefully accepts a donation of real property, to be conveyed by Quit
Claim Deed from H. Kennith Carter, which property is legally described as Lots 1-6 in Block 7,
and Lots 1-8 in Block 6, in the Plat of Dundee Place. The Clerk-Treasurer is authorized to
issue warrants to pay for the title insurance premium.
