AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AMENDING THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL
CODE, CHAPTER 2.32 PLANNING COMMISSION,
SECTION 2.32.010 CREATED, AND SECTION 2.32.020
MEMBERSHIP, AND PROVIDING FOR A PLANNING
COMMISSION OF UP TO 11 MEMBERS.
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend ordains as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 2.32 , Planning Commission, of the Port Townsend
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.32.010 Created.
There is created and authorized to act a planning commission, which shall be an
instrumentality of the city and ..,~.;,.u.._..._ ~....~'"" be ~.,...,~.. ~' .... a .-..""a ~,...°~"~" ..... , .......... , ,^ ~

provided by ordinance.
2.32.020 Membership.
The committee shall consist of not less than seven members and not more than
eleven members. Members shall be appointed for tenure as follows:

* Position may sunset if Council determines 7 member commission is adequate
following completion of 5 year comprehensive plan amendment in 2002.
Persons appointed to the existing planning commission shall continue to serve
for the fulfillment of their term.
Except as provided herein, the term of office shall be four (4) years.
SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application
to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the
application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
SECTION 4. Effect. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days
after the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.
