AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AMENDING
ORDINANCE 2785 (ADOPTING THE FY2002 BUDGET) TO REFLECT A
POSITION TITLE CHANGE IN THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT SALARY
SCHEDULE PORTION OF THE 2002 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enable the administration to provide
current and accurate GIS data and support for various city initiatives including the
Comprehensive Plan amendment process, Shoreline Plan update, development review,
and other land use issues; and
WHEREAS, funding for an Engineering Technician I in the Public Works
Department is included in the FY 2002 budget; and
WHEREAS, a revision to the title and job description is desired to emphasize the
GIS component of the position;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The General Government Salary Schedule contained in the FY
2002 Budget is hereby amended to replace "Engineering Technician I" with "GIS and
Engineering Technician.
SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application
to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the
application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
five days after the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.

Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, at a
regular meeting thereof, held this nineteenth day of February, 2002.
