RESOLUTION NO. 95- 0"'(
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONTRACT
AWARDING THE BID FOR A BACKHOE FOR THE WATER
MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the existing backhoe used by the Maintenance Division of the Water Department
needs to be replaced and upgraded to meet the demands of area growth; and
WHEREAS, the existing equipment will be utilized at the biosolids composting facility; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this equipment is funded in the 1995 Water Distribution budget;
and
WHEREAS, The City has advertised for bids for a backhoe in a fair and timely manner and has
found Smith Tractor & Equipment Company to be the lowest, responsive,
responsible bidder, in accordance with State and local bidding regulations;
NOW
THEREFORE
Be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does hereby request the
Mayor to sign a contract agreement with Smith Tractor & Equipment Company to supply and
deliver a backhoe for the Water Maintenance Department.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the Cr¡'ty. Port T(send and signed by the Mayor this
3rd day of January, 1995.
