A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to enter
into a contract with John Graham Associates
to conduct a study of current and future
facilities needs of the Police and Fire
Departments.
since construction of the present police and fire
facilities the demand for emergency and other public
safety services has increased as Port Townsend has
grown and as the community has responded to improved
levels of service; and
the present Police Station and Fire Hall buildings lack
sufficient space for current, future or emergency
operations and would likely be rendered unusable in the
event of a major earthquake; and
the city has publicly requested proposals from
qualified firms to conduct an assessment of future
needs and to make recommendations for interim and long
term public safety facilities; and
the project steering committee has evaluated proposals
and has selected the firm of John Graham Associates to
conduct the study; NOW, THEREFORE, .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement
substantially in the form attached hereto (Attachment A) with
John Graham Associates to conduct a s:~udy of current and future
facilities needs of the Police and Fi~e Departments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any actio"- taken pursuant to this
authorization but prior to its approv-l is hereby ratified and
confirmed.
