RESOLUTION 95- /4
A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to enter into a
professional services agreement with Black Bear Systems, Inc. to
assist the city manage its computer systems, train city employees
and prepare a computer resource management plan.
WHEREAS, the city has acquired and employed computer systems to improve public
service, provide management information and efficiently process data in the
conduct of city business; and
WHEREAS,
it is desirable to improve management, coordination, training and planning for
continued use of computer systems to assure compatible interoffice data
communications, to conserve public resources in expenditures for computer
systems, to safeguard data storage and protect confidential and financial
records, and to make the most efficient possible use of staff resources; and
WHEREAS,
Black Bear Systems, Inc. has personnel with specialized expertise not available
among city staff, has the ability to respond promptly to emergency computer
maintenance needs and, based upon past services provided to the city by Black
Bear, Inc., is ideally and uniquely suited to provide the services desired by the
city; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that
the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement substantially in the form attached
hereto (Attachment A) with Black Bear Systems, Inc. to assist the city manage its computer
systems, train city employees and prepare a computer resource management plan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any action taken pursuant to this authorization but prior
to its approval is hereby ratified and confirmed.
