A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN GRANT
APPLICATIONS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY FOR
STORMWATER COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING AND FLOOD
CONTROL.
WHEREAS,
an application was submitted and accepted by the Department of Ecology in 1993 for
FCAAP (Flood Control Assistance Account Program) grant funds to perform studies and
develop long-term management of stormwater flooding isSUes in one basin within the
City; and
WHEREAS,
the FCAAP grant program is proving to be a valuable source of financial
assistance in obtaining basin information, analyzing problems and anticipating
future issues, and developing solutions that can mitigate or avert costly damage
prior to flood events occurring; and
WHEREAS, funds have been made available in the 1995 Budget and are expected to be made
available in the 1996 Budget in anticipation of this project(s),
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the Mayor is hereby
· authorized to sign two grant applications in substantially the form as attached, neither of which
is to exceed $110,000, and proposing 50% matching FCAAP grant funds, with which to perform
analyses and services as detailed in the scope of work.
