RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO CONVEY TITLE OF A
1983 CHEVROLET VAN TO THE JEFFERSON COUNTY ANIMAL
SERVICES FOR PUBLIC USE
WHEREAS, in 1983 the City of Port Townsend purchased a Chevrolet van,
VIN 2GCCG1507D4140565, for animal control purposes; and
WHEREAS, the van has been used by the Jefferson County Animal Services for a
number of years, and is currently in use for City and County animal control purposes; and
WHEREAS, the van is in a state of ill repair and is of nominal value. In order for the
Jefferson County Animal Services to adequately maintain and repair the vehicle, the County
needs to have title to the vehicle so that Animal Services is able to put the van into its equipment
repair category within the County budget system; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Animal Services is a public entity which will use the
van for public, governmental purposes, including service for the residents of the City of Port
Townsend,
NOW, THEREFOR, the City Council resolves as follows:
The City Council directs and authorizes the Mayor to sign the title of the 1983 Chevrolet
Animal Control van over to Jefferson County Animal Services (or Jefferson County) to facilitate
the use, maintenance and repair of the van for public purposes.
