A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN INTERAGENCY
AGREEMENT WITHTHE PORT TOWNSEND PAPER COMPANY AND JEFFERSON
CO~Y FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT
MILL ROAD AND SIMS WAY.
the City Gateway Plan recommends the installation of a
traffic signal at Sims Way and Mill Road and rates this
as a high priority; and
the Washington State Department of Transportation, the
Port Townsend Paper Company, and the County have all
indicated their support of this project and have pledged
financial support; and
a traffic signal at this location will reduce traffic
safety hazards;
NOW . THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign an agreement in
substantially the form attached hereto as Attachment A; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED tha-t the Washington State Department of
Transportation is requested to initiate this important project.
