A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CHARTER FOR
THE JEFFERSON COUNTY WATER RESOURCES COUNCIL
the City actively participated in the Dungeness/Quilcene Water Resources Pilot
project and approved the Plan; and
the City expressed the desire to implement the Dungeness/Quilcene.Water
Resource Plan; and
the City has been actively participating in the Jefferson County Water Resources
Council (JCWRC); and
the City believes that the JCWRC will be important in forming water issues in
Jefferson County; and
the City believes that the JCWRC will be able to conduct studies and projects that
will further the understanding of surface and groundwater quality and quantity in
Jefferson County; and
such studies and projects will benefit the City in its role as a water purveyor;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the Mayor is hereby
authorized to sign the attached Jefferson County Water Resources Council Charter with the
understanding that an agreeable Memorandum of Understanding will be developed.
