A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN CHANGE
ORDER NO. 1 WITH SPECIALTIES BUILDING AND DEVELOPMENT
FOR UPGRADES TO THE WASH PAD FACILITY DESIGN TO MEET
BUILDING CODE.
WHEREAS,
Specialties Building and Development was asked to prepare detailed design
drawings based on the sketch provided in the bid specifications for the Wash Pad
and Equipment Outbuilding; and
WHEREAS, During this drawing process, inconsistencies were discovered in the specifications
and building codes; and
WHEREAS,
In order for the facility to meet existing building codes and handle the weight of
the city's service vehicles, changes to the design have been recommended by
Specialties Building and Development; and
WHEREAS,
The City attorney agreed to enter into the original contract knowing these changes
were forthcoming and staff has reviewed the proposed changes and agree the price
for said changes is fair.
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does hereby authorize the
mayor to sign Change Order No. 1 with Specialties Building and Development to upgrade the
facility design to meet building codes.
