A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND SUBMIT THE 1996-
2001 SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The Transportation Committee of the City Council has reviewed the 1996-2001
Six Year Plan; and
WHEREAS, The City is required by the State of Washington of Transportation to submit an
approved Transportation Improvement Plan by July 31 of each year; and
WHEREAS, Many City streets presently, are of substandard construction; and
WHEREAS, Traffic and weight on many City streets have increased substantially; and
WHEREAS,
The City receives ½ cent gas tax from the State for road improvements amounting
to approximately $55,000 and $15,000 is available from the Stormwater fund for
street improvements,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
authorizes the Mayor to sign this resolution approving the attached Six-Year Transportation
Improvement Program for 1996-2001 for submission to the State Department of Transportation.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 17th
day of July 1995.
