RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND APPROVING JEFFERSON COUNTY SWIM ASSOCIATION
POOL USE AGREEMENT ~
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Swimming Pool facilities ("Pool") are under the control
and management authority of the City of Port Townsend; and
WHEREAS, during the time the Pool was under the management of Jefferson County,
the Jefferson County Swim Association (JCSA), a Washington non-profit corporation, had an
agreement with Jefferson County allowing JCSA exclusive use of the Pool facilities during
certain hours; and
WHEREAS, JCSA desires to have...~i~lt!t{~ use of the Pool from Monday through
Friday during the hours of 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., for swim team practice, training,
conditioning, preparing for, and conducting swim competition events; and
WHEREAS, JCSA has agreed to pay a reasonable fee for the use of the Pool facilities,
to defray the City's costs associated with Pool management during the JCSA hours of use and
staffing for a total of $400.00 per month; and
WHEREAS, JCSA has agreed to abide by all rules and regulations of the Port Townsend
Pool facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City believes that JCSA's use of the Pool facilities will be a benefit to
the community and is an important component of the use and management of the Pool,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend authorizes the Mayor to sign the Jefferson County Swim Association Pool Use
Agreement, in substantially the form attached hereto.
