A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, THE CITY'S POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND
JEFFERSON COUNTY, JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S
DEPARTMENT AND JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION
DISTRICTS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, AND 6 FOR A JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE
INVESTIGATION TASK FORCE.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend and the various other entities party to this
agreement recognize the need, on ocCaSion, for cooperation iff investigating fires in suspected
WHEREAS, the parties to the agreement wish to augment their individual departmental
capabilities through mutual aid under certain circumstances; and
WHEREAS, it is mutually deemed feasible, desirable and beneficial to provide such
mutual aid under certain circumstances; and
WHEREAS, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, R.C.W. 39.34, allows such cooperative
agreements to be entered into; Now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND:
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an Interlocal Agreement For Jefferson County
Fire Investigation Task Force between the City of Port Townsend, the City of Port Townsend
Fire Department and the City of Port Townsend Police Department and Jefferson County,
Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and Jefferson County Fire Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6,
in substantially the same form as attached heret~,.-.~
