HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-113Resolution No. 95- 112 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO REJECT ALL BIDS FOR AN AMBULANCE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND TO RE-BID THE PURCHASE The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City is in need of a new ambulance for the Fire Department; and WltF~AS, the City has advertised and bid for this equipment in a fair and timely manner, according to state and local laws; and WHEREAS, of the four bids received, all came in substantially higher than the budget amount for the purchase of the equipment; and WHEREAS, the City may, according to state and local regulations, reject any and all bids by resolution and then re-bid the purchase; and WHEREAS, the bid specifications at page 1, Ambulance Specification Introduction further state that the "City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids on such basis as the City deems to be in its best interest;' and WltEREAS, the City deems it in the best interest of the general public to redo the design specifications to specifically include the option of additive alternatives and/or increments so as to achieve the best possible price in a competitive manner, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council' for the City of Port Townsend that the Mayor of Port ToWnsend is authorized to reject all bids for the Fire Department ambulance and to re-bid the purchase of this equipment.
