A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
DOUGLAS MASON TO PROVIDE RIGHT OF WAY ACTIVITIES AND NEGOTIATIONS,
PURCHASE OF LAND AND EASEMENTS FOR UTILITIES AND IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the City and the Consultant are desirous of entering into an Agreement to formalize
their relationship; and
it would be beneficial to the City to utilize the Consultant as an independent entity
to provide right-of-way activities and negotiations, purchase of land and easements
for utilities and improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the City would further utilize the Consultant to prepare Local Improvement District
(LID) and payback agreements for the City; and
WIIEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such services
itself; and
WHEREAS, the City has investigated the qualifications of the Consultant and f'mds that the
Consultant is qualified to perform the services required;and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
authorizing the Mayor to sign a Professional Services Contract with-Douglas G. Mason in
substantially the same form as attached.
