A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
DECLARING HURLEN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY TO BE THE LOWEST
RESPONSIVE RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE UNION WHARF
RECONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the design of, and appropriated funds for the Union
Wharf Reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, the City has advertised and received bids for this construction work in a fair and
timely fashion, in accordance with City and State bidding laws; and
WHEREAS, the City has found Hurlen Construction Company to be the lowest responsive
responsible bidder,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend as follows:
Section 1:
The bid submitted by Hurlen Construction Company for the Union Wharf Reconstruction is
hereby accepted and approved. The Base Bid and NO Alternates, are designated as the Scope of
the Contract amounting to $1,257,335.00 plus sales tax, and that Hurlen Construction Company
is declared the lowest responsive, responsible bidder on the project.
Section 2:
The contract as identified by the contract documents entitled "Union Wharf Reconstruction" is
hereby awarded to Hurlen Construction Company, subject to Hurlen Construction Company's
signature of the contract and posting of an acceptable performance bond, payment bond,
insurance certificates and. all other documentation required by the contract and the law.
Section 3:
The contract shall be signed by the Mayor and the City's award of the contract will be final when
conditions set forth in Section 2 above have been met.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 2nd day
of January 1996.
