HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-022RESOLUTION NO. ~ b - ~2. ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO DESIGNATE AN AGENT TO APPLY FOR FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA). WHEREAS, the storm events of November 1995 caused significant damage in Jefferson County including the City of Port Townsend, and WHEREAS, the damage caused by this storm included significant undermining of streets, unsafe shoulders and the exposure of water mainlines, and WHEREAS, funds for repairs necessary to public health and safety were not included in the 1996 budget, and WHEREAS, funds are available through FEMA, and WHEREAS, an application for these funds must be completed and signed by an authorized agent of the City; N O W T H E R E F O R E Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does hereby authorize the Mayor to appoint the Administrative Manager of Public Works, Randy Friedrich, as the City's agent authorized to sign applications for FEMA funds.
