A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO SET A SCHEDULE FOR THE CITY'S
COMPLIANCE TO THE SURFACE WATER TREATMENT RULE.
WHEREAS, the City has received notice from the Department of Health that the City can avoid
filtration at this time, and
WHEREAS, the avoidance of filtration is contingent on many follow through action items, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health and the City have an Agreed Order that needs revision
and updating, and
WHEREAS, Public Works staff has negotiated this order under the direction of the Council
Utilities Committee;
N O W T H E R E F O R E
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the
Mayor to sign the Agreed Order with the Department of Health regarding water filtration
avoidance.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 5th day
of February 1996.
