RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH WASHINGTON STATE PATROL FOR FIRE
PREVENTION INSPECTIONS IN STATE-LICENSED BOARDING HOMES
LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WitEREAS, the State Fire Marshal no longer conducts Boarding Home inspections; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Patrol, State Fire Marshal ("Washington State: Patrol")
desires to contract inspection services for Boarding Homes located within the City of Port
Townsend; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend Fire Department is the authority having
jurisdiction as identified by the State of Washington; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend Fire Department is able to perform Boarding
Home inspections without additional staff,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend that the Mayor is authorized to immediately enter into a contract with the Washington
State Patrol for fire prevention inspections in State-licensed Boarding Homes located within the
city limits of Port Townsend.
