RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSE~ AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT REGARDING JEFFERSON COUNTY
AIRPORT SUBAREA PLAN
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Port of Port Townsend owns and operates the Jefferson County
International Airport located in Jefferson County; and
WHEREAS, the Port initiated the development of a Master Plan for the Airport to
provide information and direct 'the future planning and continued development of the Airport;
and
WHEREAS, the Port and the City desire to cooperate in their respective planning
efforts to achieve their respective and mutual goals; and
WHEREAS, the parties agree that developing a subarea plan for the Airport as an
element of the Jefferson County Comprehensive Plan could provide an appropriate vehicle for
achieving these goals,
NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend, that the Mayor is authorized to execute the attached Agreement pursuant to and in
accordance with the State Interlocal Cooperation Act, RCW 39.34, for the purposes of
cooperating with the Port in preparing a subarea plan for the Jefferson County International
Airport.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor
on this 1st day of April 1996.
