A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FROM
CONSULTANTS TO DEVELOP A PARKS AND RECREATION FUNCTIONAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City has a Comprehensive Park Plan dated 1991; and
WHEREAS, the City has added a Recreation Department since that time; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and City Staff has deemed a Comprehensive Parks and
Recreation Functional Plan necessary and desirable; and
WHEREAS, the City is not eligible for certain grant funding without such a plan; and
WHEREAS, a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Functional Plan would coordinate the
efforts of individual planning efforts such as, the Capital Facilities Plan and the
Capital Improvement Plan, the GMA Comprehensive Plan and PT2020; and
WHEREAS, the City Council's Parks, Recreation and Property Committee, the Parks and
Recreation Commission and City Staff have approved the content 0f the Request
for Proposal,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be It Resolved, by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend to authorize the advertisement
of the Request of Proposal for a consultant to develop a Parks and Recreation Functional Plan.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 6th
day of May, 1996.
