A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A COLLECTIVE
BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AND
LOCAL UNION NO. 589 OF THE TEAMSTERS UNION FOR GENERAL
GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES EFFECTIVE FOR THE PERIOD BETWEEN
JANUARY 1, 1996 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1998
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the terms of the tentative agreement (attached
hereto) negotiated by the Mayor's staff and the bargaining representatives for the Teamster's
Union; and
WHEREAS, the City Council's ad hoc Labor Committee has reviewed the tentative
agreement and recommends Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to implement the tentative agreement substantially
in the form as attached to this Resolution and presented to the City Council at its meeting held on
May 6, 1996, by authorizing the ~Mayor to sign a final agreement with the Teamster's Union,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a collective bargaining agreement in
substantially the form attached hereto between the City of Port Townsend and Local Union
No. 589 of the Teamsters Union for City General Government employees effective for the period
between January 1, 1996 through December 31, 1998.
ADOPTED by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor
this 6th day of May, 1996.
