A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTING THE WASTE
REDUCTION AND RECYCLING PLAN.
the City of Port Townsend fmds a need to develop a waste reduction and recycling
plan that is responsive to the needs and interests of the City of Port Townsend and
Jefferson County residents; and
the City of Port Townsend finds the need to assess the current status of recycling
and waste collection services, and to provide recommendations to ref'me existing
waste reduction and recycling programs or to develop new programs; and
· ,VI-IEREAS, the City of Port Townsend wishes to develop a long range plan that will mesh with
Jefferson County's solid waste management planning and implementation efforts.
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council as follows:
The Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan is hereby adopted as prepared and submitted by the City
Council's Community Services Committee and Rick Hlavka, of Green Solutions.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 17th
day of June, 1996.
