HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-109Resolution No. 96- / ~) .~ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT TO ESTABLISH A CITY FUND THE MAINTENANCE OF JOINTLY- OWNED FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows: WHE~, the Port Townsend Fire Department has jointly participated with Jefferson County Fire Protection Districts 1 and 6 in the construction of a fire pump test pit located at 144 Elkins Road, Port Hadlock, Washington; and WHEREAS, the pump test pit consists of an in-ground water tank which enables fire departments to ensure that their fire equipment remains in proper working order in the event of a fire emergency; and WHEREAS, the City and Districts 1 and 6 jointly own and maintain the pump test pit and associated equipment and desire to make the test pit available to other fire departments and fire districts, upon payment of a reasonable fee for such purpose, said fee to defray the cost of construction and routine maintenance; and WHEREAS, the City and Districts 1 and 6 have agreed by the attached Intergovernmental Agreement to establish a fund maintained by the City Treasurer for this purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend that the Council approves the attached Intergovernmental Agreement and authorizes the Mayor to sign the Agreement in substantially the form attached.
