A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING WITH PUD #1 OF JEFFERSON COUNTY REGARDING THE
JEFFERSON COUNTY WATER RESOURCES COUNCIL

the Jefferson County Water Resources Council was formed as the implementing
body for the Dungeness/Quilcene Water Resources Management Plan adopted by
the Department of Ecology; and
the Council has been meeting since January, 1995 and has a signed Charter under
which it is operating, and the City of Port Townsend and PUD #1 of Jefferson
County are signatories to the Charter; and
the City of Port Townsend has provided funding for facilitation and coordination
for the Council since its formation; and
the PUD has funds to support the Council and desires a formal mechanism to
share in the costs of facilitation and coordination.
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND that it
authorizes the Mayor to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with PUD #1 of Jefferson
County, in substantially the form attached hereto, related to the Jefferson County Water
Resources Council.
Adopted by the City Council of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 19th day of
August, 1996.
