RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN INTER-AGENCY COOPERATION
AGREEMENT WITH THE PORT TOWNSEND SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR 1996/97
SWIMMING INSTRUCTION PROGRAM
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
wm*~REAS, the City of Port Townsend is interested in continuing a swimming instruction
program for the 1996/1997 school year; and
WItEREAS, the Port Townsend School District No. 50 owns the pool facility located at the
Mountain View Elementary School located at Walker & Blaine streets; and
WHEREAS, both the City and the School District desire to coordinate and cooperate in
providing a pool program for the school children of the city of Port Townsend,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend:
1. Authorizes the Mayor to sign an agreement in substantially the same form as attached
to continue an Inter-Agency Cooperation Agreement of 1996/97 Swimming Instruction Program for
the students at Grant Street and Mountain View schools for 1996/97; and
2. Further authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works to negotiate minor
changes to this agreement or renewals of this agreement without bringing it back to the full Council
for approval, and the Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign any such modified or renewed
agreement.
In the event that the Public Works Director determines that a change is significant or major, the
agreement shall first be reviewed by the Parks, Recreation and Property Committee and submitted
to the full City Council for approval.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor on
this 7th day of November, 1996.
