A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN CHANGE ORDER #10 FOR AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $187,000.00 TO THE UNION WHARF RECONSTRUCTION
PROJECT CONTRACT WITH HURLEN CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, Change Orders are a necessary and common occurrence on large construction
projects such as Union Wharf; and
WHEREAS,
Change Orders are actual changes to the original contract, requiring fair
negotiation and agreement by the City and the Contractor, Hurlen Construction
Company; and
WHEREAS,
The addition of the floating dock is an option outlined in the bid documents,
contingent upon receiving Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (IAC)
funding; and
WHEREAS, The IAC has awarded the grant in the amount requested,
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the Mayor to sign
Change Order 4/10 for an amount not to exceed $187,000.00 to the Union Wharf Reconstruction
Project contract with Hurlen Construction Company to add a floating dock.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 2nd
day of December, 1996.
