A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONTRACT
AGREEMENT WITH JEFFERSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION
DISTRICT #6 FOR FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES AT THE BIOSOLIDS
COMPOSTING FACILITY.

The City needs to have fire protection services to protect the Biosolids Composting
Facility; and
The City has constructed a Biosolids Composting Facility on land leased at Jefferson
County Waste Management Facility site in Jefferson County Fire District #6 service
area; and
A base fee of $2000 annually has been established for Jefferson County Fire District
#6 to provide fire protection services for the City; and
The City desires to enter into a five year contract, from January 1, 1997 to December
31, 2001 for Jefferson County Fire District #6 to provide fire protection for the
Biosolids Composting Facility at a cost of $2,000 annually,
NOW THEREFORE
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it authorizes the Mayor to sign
a contract agreement with Jefferson County Fire Protection District #6 for $2,000 to be paid annually
over the five year term of this agreement for fire protection at the Biosolids Composting Facility at
the Jefferson County Waste Management Facility Site.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend and signed by the Mayor this 16th day
of December, 1996.
