A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING AN INVITATION TO BID FOR A
TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM FOR CITY FACILITIES INCLUDING
CITY HALL, POLICE DEPARTMENT, LIBRARY, FIRE DEPARTMENT,
CITY ATTORNEY AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR OFFICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend desires to provide an integrated networked telecommunications
system for all City facilities; and
the telephone equipment in use at the Police Department facility and the Port Townsend
Public Library do not function adequately and are obsolete and therefore not repairable;
and
WHEREAS, the City's existing telephone equipment at most facilities does not have the capability of
voicemail or call transfers to other distant city offices; and
the City has retained the consulting services of Telcom Management ConCepts to prepare
a telecommunications needs assessment and the Request For Proposal document for this
purpose; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to obtain these products through a fair and timely competitive
bidding process pursuant to Washington State Law: Now, Therefore,
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that the Mayor is hereby authorized to
call for bids for a telecommunications system in City facilities.
