RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AND
CONSULTANT AGREF2vIENT WITH 3-H CABLE COMMUNICATIONS
CONSULTANTS FROM 1997 THROUGH 2000
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City hired Consultant to help draft and negotiate a cable television
franchise renewal with Summit Communications Inc., d/b/a Port Townsend Cable TV Limited
Partnership ("Operator"), and found its services to be highly valuable and cost-effective; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Consultant desire to enter into a new agreement to formalize
their relationship; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City to use the Consultant as an independent
entity to accomplish the City's objectives of implementing the cable television Franchise
Agreement with the Operator and establishing and running, in partnership with other governmental
agencies, a PEG access studio; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to accomplish such
objectives itself; and
WHEREAS, the City has investigated the qualifications of the Consultant and finds that
the Consultant is qualified to perform the services required,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Port
Townsend that the Mayor is authorized to sign the Professional Service/Consultant Agreement
with 3-H Cable Communications Consultants in substantially the same form as attached.
