C77 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO DESIGNATE AN AGENT TO APPLY FOR FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA). WHEREAS, the storm events of December 1996 through January 1997 caused significant damage in Jefferson County including the City of Port Townsend, and WHEREAS, the damage caused by this storm included significant undermining of streets, unsafe shoulders and the exposure of the 30" water pipeline at City Lake, and WHEREAS, funds for repairs necessary to public health and safety were not included in the 1997 budget, and WHEREAS, funds are available through FEMA, and WHEREAS, an application for these funds must be completed and signed by an authorized agent of the City; N O W T H E R E F O R E Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does hereby authorize the Mayor to appoint the Assistant Administrative Manager of Public Works, Catherine McNabb, as the City's agent authorized to sign applications for FEMA funds.
