RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE ATTACHED LEASE WITH MICHAEL AND PAT
KENNA FOR OFFICE SPACE AT 617 AND 607 A TYLER STREET FOR THE NEW PUBLIC
WORKS ENGINEERING GROUP.

the Engineering Group, over the course of this year as it is phased in, will require space for
personnel and equipment; and
there is no additional space available at City Hall or any other location for the Engineering
Group; and
CH2M-Hill is not intending to continue the lease and functions such as Gl S are found in
that location; and
the equipment and temporary personnel contracted to perform these functions are presently
located at this address; and
after conducting a search for space in Port Townsend the Tyler Street location is the most
suitable space available at a reasonable lease rate; and
the effect of moving to a new location at this time in the construction season would cause
severe disruption to project management; and
the City will reduce payments to CH2M-Hill that will be substantial enough to cover the
lease payments; and
the rest of the money necessary was anticipated as part of the Engineering Group,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City Port Townsend authorizes
the Mayor to sign a lease, in substantially the same for as attached, with Michael and Pat Kenna for office
space at 617 and 607 A Tyler Street for a period of one year.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 17th day of
March, 1997.
