AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REPEALING
ORDINANCE 2684 AND SETTING SALARY COMPENSATION FOR
CITY COUNCILMEMBERS AND MAYOR
THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, ORDAINS AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Councilmember Salary. Commencing January 1, 2004, City
Councilmembers shall be compensated for the performance of their duties and attendance at
City Council meetings and other City business, as follows:
Councilmembers' Salary
01/01/04 01/01/05 01/01/06, and thereafter
Positions 3, 4, 6 and 7 $375 $500 $500
Positions 1, 2 and 5 $250 $250 $500
SECTION 2. Mayor Salary. Commencing January 1, 2004, and thereafter, the
Mayor (in addition to his/her Councilmember salary) shall be compensated for the
performance of his/her duties as Mayor, as follows: an amount that results in a total
Councilmember salary plus Mayor salary equaling $750 per month.
SECTION 3. Repealer. Ordinance 2684 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of
the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five
days after the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.
