A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND ESTABLISHING THE PORT TOWNSEND COMMUNITY CENTER
AS THE COUNCIL'S REGULAR MEETING PLACE UNTIL INTERIM OFFICE
SPACE FOR CITY HALL STAFF MEMBERS IS AVAILABLE
WHEREAS,
the Port Townsend Municipal Code Chapter 2.04, Port Townsend City Council
Rules, Section 2.04.010, Business meetings - Attendance, establishes the City
Hall Council Chambers as the location for regular city council business meetings,
and
WHEREAS,
the city council has directed that the City Hall Council Chambers be vacated by
the city council and used for emergency temporary office space for city hall staff
members until interim office accommodations are available; and
WHEREAS, the time required to establish interim office accommodations space is anticipated
to be at least six months; and
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Community Center is available for use on regular council
meeting evenings; and
WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Community Center is centrally located, is handicapped -
accessible, accommodates up to 170 people, and has a public address system;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend
that regular city council business meetings on the first and third Monday of each month be held
at the Port Townsend Community Center, until interim accommodations for city hall staff
members are available.
