A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH SVR DESIGN COMPANY TO PREPARE A FEMA HAZARD
MITIGATION GRANT FOR AN EMERGENCY SHUT-OFF SYSTEM FOR THE PORT
TOWNSEND WATER SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the City and the Consultant are desirous of entering into an Agreement to
formalize their relationship, and
it would be beneficial to the City to utilize the Consultant as an independent
entity to assist the City with a FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant for an
Emergency Shut-Off System for the Port Townsend Water System; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such services
itself; and
WHEREAS, the City has investigated the qualifications of the Consultant and finds that the
Consultant is qualified to perform the services required;
N O W T H E R E F O R E
Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend authorizes the Mayor to sign a
Professional Services Agreement with SVR Design Company to prepare an application for a
FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant for an Emergency Shut-Off System for the Port Townsend
Water System.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and signed by the Mayor this 7th
day of July, 1997.
